Gin Williams
I majored in Graphic Design, Printmaking, and then Graphic Design again. Ultimately, I graduated Magna Cum Laude with my bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design with an immersion in Gender Studies from Rochester Institute of Technology. During my three years of school in Rochester, I worked as a sewist, designer, and screen printer for a local business called We Buy Gold (now Golden Supply Company).
After graduating, I relocated to Portland, OR, in the spring of 2022. Björk (my cat) and I have been adjusting slowly to our new home. I still have a lot to explore within the creative community here.
My creative approach is to establish research-based connections that work to tell a strong story. I’ve never been satisfied by the response “I don’t know; it just looked good,” from others, but mainly from myself. As a designer, I implement meaningful symbolism and motifs that lead the audience to think deeper.
